First observation of de Haas-van Alphen effect in PuIn

We observed for the first time the de Haas-van Alphen oscillation in a paramagnet PuIn. One detected dHvA branch named corresponds to a closed band-27 electron Fermi surface, where three kinds of closed Fermi surfaces are calculated on the basis of the 5-itinerant band model. The cyclotron mass of branch was determined as 4.8 . The dHvA signals are found to be extremely reduced as a function of time due to point defects produced by -decay of Pu.
